Requirements

• Basic proficiency in the English language
• Familiarity with the IELTS Academic test and its purpose for healthcare professionals and students
• Understanding of the key differences between the IELTS Academic test and other English proficiency tests
• Knowledge of the exam format and structure, including the listening, reading, writing, and speaking modules
• Awareness of the IELTS scoring system and band descriptors for each module
• Ability to differentiate between different band scores and interpret them to identify areas of improvement
• Some experience or practice with note-taking techniques for listening comprehension
• Knowledge of reading strategies, such as skimming and scanning techniques, and understanding different types of reading passages
• Understanding of the different task types in the writing module and familiarity with essay and report structures
• Some experience in speaking techniques, including fluency and coherence, vocabulary expansion, and effective responses to different speaking questions
• Willingness to take practice tests to assess current proficiency level and identify strengths and weaknesses
• Preparedness to develop effective test-taking strategies and time management skills
• Commitment to revision techniques for different modules and the ability to review common mistakes and areas for improvement
• Readiness to prepare mentally and physically for the exam day by following dos and don'ts recommendations.
